Thursday 8th August saw us launch Food and Cancer - What's The Deal? at The AllBright, London.

We welcomed experts including Dr Zoe Williams, Jenny RosboroughGynae Geek and Dr Joshua Wolrich, healthcare professionals from leading organisations including UCLH, Royal Marsden and Guys and St Thomas's and some of our Young Adult Ambassadors including Lauren Mahon, to celebrate and hear from our expert panel discussion with Dr Hazel Wallace, Dr Ailsa Sita Lumsden, Camilla Ferraro, Monika Siemicka and Alice May Purkiss.

A special thank you to our Ambassador Dr Hazel Wallace for working with us to bring this invaluable resource to life and to LetterOne for continuing to support our work, so that we can make resources like this accessible to young adults with cancer across the UK.

When I came on board as a Trekstock Ambassador, I realised there was a need for a nutrition resource that was available specifically for people going through cancer treatment and recovery. So Trekstock and I brought together a group of doctors, dietitians, patients, and members of the Trekstock community to create a no-nonsense, evidence-based, and easy-to-follow nutrition booklet to help support you. Dr Hazel Wallace, The Food Medic

Earlier this year we ran a survey and found that 43% of our community consult the Internet for advice or information on nutrition and 20% refer to social media, 45% said they feel social media makes them confused about what to eat, and less than half said they felt comfortable discussing their diet with their oncology team.

Food and Cancer is a new resource that we are extremely proud of. We’ve included the latest research and unpacked controversial topics in a balanced way offering you all the information you need to make decisions that work for you. A huge thank you to our expert contributors; Dr Hazel Wallace, Dr Ailsa Sita Lumsden, Dani Binnington, Camilla Ferraro, Monika Siemicka, Sarah Dixon and Alice May Purkiss.

I was thrilled to attend the launch of the Trekstock 'Food and Cancer' guidebook. The world of nutrition is confusing at the best of times, let alone when you're facing cancer and cancer treatment. This guidebook contains safe, relevant, evidence based information, and has been put together by a credible team of experts who between them have knowledge, clinical experience and lived experience too. What's really great is that young adults living with and through cancer can share this resource with their families, friends and even their medical team and everyone can benefit as the guidance is relevant and correct for most people.
