Rachel What cancer were you diagnosed with? Breast Cancer What age were you diagnosed? 34 What has helped you to thrive? Without a doubt it’s been my friends and family. I’m so incredibly lucky that I have an amazing support network. I’m feeling very spoilt at the moment. Rachel's Story I’ve always been an annoyingly extremely positive person. And this hasn’t changed since my diagnosis. I refuse to let cancer take that away from me. My diagnosis came as a huge shock. I was enjoying a great summer and I felt really fit and well. I found a lump and went straight to the GP. But I went more to put my mind at ease rather than me fearing the worst. A week later I was at the hospital and I got the results I never expected....... I had breast cancer. Both my parents had cancer at a young age (not linked to mine, pure bad luck). And I work for another incredible charity, Willow Foundation, that helps young adults with serious illness bring some light into a very dark time. So I was fully aware of the treatment plan that’s ahead of me and the long battle I’m now facing. I try to wake up each day and do one thing that makes me feel better. Whether that be go for a walk, eat some chocolate, go out with friends or hit the gym. Bring on the battle and let’s kick cancers ass. Manage Cookie Preferences
