What has helped you to thrive?

What's helped me thrive I think is the kindness of other people since this has happened to me, and showing me who my true friends are. The diamonds in your life really step up when you're at rock bottom and sometimes they aren't who you expect them to be.

Tabitha's Story

I was misdiagnosed in the beginning, with mastitis. At the beginning of lockdown, I pushed for the GP to see me again, I just knew something was wrong. This time I saw a different GP, and she referred me to the urgent breast specialist straight away. However, due to the COVID-19 restrictions, she told me she didn't know when I would be seen.

My mental health couldn't cope with that and felt I had no choice but to go private, and I was so lucky and fortunate that I could. I was officially diagnosed with a 20mm tumour on April 22nd. By the time I had my single mastectomy on May 12th, it had grown to 35mm. No lymph node involvement thankfully but I am still undergoing 6 sessions of chemo just in case there are any stray bad cells lingering in my system.
