We're really excited to announce that Team Trekstock has recently welcomed Onome, our new Health Programmes Officer!

Onome has a background in public health and has worked with a range of health-focused charities on programmes that improve the lives of young people. In her last role in Youth Programmes Engagement at Anthony Nolan, she recently led a team of young Equity, Inclusion and Diversity champions to design innovative ways to bridge the gap in access to cancer treatment for people from LGBTQ+ and ethnically diverse communities, managed a range of projects and events and helped grow the reach of the community.

Speaking about her new role as Health Programmes Officer, Onome said:

"Joining this close-knit team at such a time as this has been truly exciting. One of the best parts of my role is that I get to engage with Trekstock's community, and this gives me a clearer understanding of people's realities of living with cancer. There's no greater feeling than knowing that the work we do significantly impacts the lives of young adults; a demographic that is often sidelined in cancer-related interventions. I'm glad to support Trekstock's commitment to bridging this gap and reaching more young people from diverse communities."

Onome will be working closely with our Head of Programmes & Engagement as we scale up our support options to young people living with cancer, and she'll also be playing an active role in managing our new online community platform: Circle.
